Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the relationship between trade openness and economic growth. A simple graphical illustration of the relevant variables is used to examine this relationship. Data is obtained from The Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development. Quarterly data from 1990 to 2017 is used for this research. The results suggest that the relationship between trade openness and economic growth is not straight forward. Additional analysis will have to be done to reach more definitive conclusions.
