Description
Statistics reveal 52% of Americans have not set foot in their local public libraries in the past year, and this represents an untapped market of 165 million people. This number calls for a fundamental shift in our approach to information services, placing those absent from library services at the forefront of our mission. She challenges the status quo of outreach services, which are traditionally seen as supplementary and, therefore, susceptible to budget cuts. However, prioritizing underserved & marginalized communities and investing in outreach and community-based services, lets you actively disseminate information where it is needed most.
