Abstract
This thesis is about our work integrating traditional devices, for example, mobile and stationary displays, into an augmented reality (AR) tool for analyzing data during sensemaking tasks. We create a framework for breaking down analysis tasks into three steps. Using our framework we design and implement the AR bulletin board (ARBB).We conduct a user study to evaluate ARBB, using the results and user feedback to create design implications. Our study supports that having a physical device helps users complete interactions faster, and users are more likely to use the tools during sensemaking to create more complex organizations.
