Abstract
Cuts & Cages is a creative thesis and poetry anthology that explores the effects of prolonged abuse and trauma on the mind and body, and the potential of creative writing and environmental stewardship to act as pathways toward holistic wellness. Special attention is given to environmental themes, identity, memory, and the process of writing as a reflective catalyst, uncovering transformative potential through creation. This collection draws on ecofeminism, surrealism, and the experiences of a person living with Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD). It aims to raise awareness about the complexities of living with C-PTSD by highlighting the ways it shapes daily experiences, perceptions, and interpersonal relationships.
